acQuire Connected episode 31: Mining for Tomorrow: A Data-First Approach to Sustainable Mining

Digital technologies are advancing at a rapid rate, transforming the operational landscape of the mining and mineral exploration industry. Facing increasing pressure to navigate the complexities of ESG requirements, whilst increasing their output, the industry is now looking to how emerging technologies can not only meet these challenges but further optimise their operations.

At the heart of this is the need for confident decision-making. To achieve this, the industry is turning to one of its most valuable assets, its data.

To ensure mining companies are equipped to make the right decisions for their operations, we must first turn our attention to having the right information. To share their experiences in integrating emerging digital technologies into their company to increase operational efficiency, acQuire invited three industry speakers to join a panel discussion at the tradeshow floor of PDAC 2024, facilitated by Alison Atkins, acQuire’s CEO.

Featuring guest speakers,

  • Jeremy Vincent, Director of Geology at Wheaton Precious Metals,
  • Alexis Eapen, Senior Mine Geologist at Centerra Gold Inc, and
  • Peter Lauder, Exploration Manager at Max Power Mining Corporation,

this podcast episode of acQuire Connected is a live recording of the panel discussion from PDAC 2024.

In this episode, we explore:

  • the role data quality and accuracy play in ensuring a company has the right information to make confident decisions,
  • how companies are integrated digital technologies into their operations to drive operational efficiency, and
  • how ESG requirements have impacted businesses from a reporting and stakeholder engagement perspective
