Brisbane, Queensland (17 August 2016)
The donations from the acQuire Brisbane office, totaling more than $5,000, were presented on Tuesday evening to John Chirio, President of the Rotary Club of Wellington Point and Neil Rangeley, Business Relations Manager of Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ), at The Lightspace in Brisbane.
Rotary changes the lives of both those based in Queensland and internationally. Donations enable the Club to response during the year to world events and channel money to those in need through RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service) or Rotary Foundation projects.
The Rotary Club’s assistance to those in need, locally and internationally, means it’s an easy choice for acQuire to support them.
acQuire also supports the AWLQ who care for 15,000 animals per year. Donations go towards food and protection for animals who find themselves at the shelter.
“Animal Welfare League Queensland relies on community donations and support to continue its lifesaving work,” AWLQ spokesperson Neil Rangeley said.
“This money will go towards treating and caring for abandoned or surrendered animals which need our shelter and we are very grateful to acQuire for its donation.”
acQuire’s Community Connect team is responsible for finding ways the technology company can make a difference in the regional communities attached to its seven worldwide offices.
It reinforces the values-based company’s drive to support the communities in which it operates.
At least one representative from each office is part of the Community Connect committee which recommends worthwhile projects in their region. This ensures a focused positive impact on the local community.
acQuire is currently holding global-wide celebrations for its 20 year anniversary. The celebrations kicked off in Calgary in July and over the next month, events will be held in Johannesburg, Santiago and Belo Horizonte.
