Designing Structure into Geological Data
MetaDatum delivers geological data systems and workflows built for certainty, efficiency, and long term value.
With extensive global and local experience, MetaDatum specialises in designing, implementing, and modernising geological database environments that transform fragmented, disparate datasets into unified, high integrity information systems. Our solutions are engineered to support the full exploration lifecycle to ensure that every dataset is accurate, traceable, and modelling ready.
A defining strength is our expertise in workflow design and optimisation. Drawing on decades of experience supporting, modelling and grade control teams across remote, offline, and complex operational environments, MetaDatum builds workflows that streamline data capture, reduce turnaround times, and increase confidence in downstream modelling and decision making processes.
We engineer workflows that streamline data capture, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance operational efficiency, thereby creating systems that genuinely support the way geologists work in the field and in the office. This practical, workflow driven approach ensures data remains accurate, traceable, immediately usable ready throughout the entire lifecycle.
Our broad multi commodity experience—spanning base and precious metals, coal, bauxite, diamonds, and mineral sands—enables us to tailor data solutions to the unique challenges of each deposit type, rather than relying on generic templates and “one size fits all” solutions.
From QA/QC governance and metadata standards to multi source data consolidation and legacy system modernisation, MetaDatum focuses on clarity, reliability, and long term scalability.
If your organisation needs geological data and workflows built with precision, discipline, and genuine geological understanding, MetaDatum delivers systems you can trust.
Rob is a geological data specialist with over 25 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing high integrity data systems for global mining and mineral exploration companies.
His career spans technical, operational, and leadership roles across large and small organisations across Africa and Australia.
Rob’s core strengths lie in geological database architecture, workflow optimisation, enterprise governance, and metadata standardisation. He has led large scale implementations of Acquire software, integrated exploration data environments, delivered solutions that improve data reliability, streamlined field to database workflows, all reducing operational friction.
His experience also includes design and implementation of automated data pipelines, developing corporate metadata repositories, deploying Power BI analytics, and supporting both remote and offline field operations.
Rob is recognised for pragmatic, technically grounded problem solving, clear communication, and the ability to bridge the gap between geological needs and effective data engineering. His work consistently enhances data quality, operational efficiency, and confidence in data led decision making.
