This unit provides an introduction to acQuire for acQuire database managers. It includes an overview  of the acquire Data Model (ADM) and the acQuire manager tools that are used to configure an existing acQuire implementation.

Who should attend?

This training session is designed for database managers and any person who has just started using acQuire or is about to start using acQuire in a Manager role.

Prerequisite

  • acQuire Fundamentals (aQ100)
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Broad understanding of the concepts of geoscientific data

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this training session, participants should be able to:

  1. Use acQuire in an implemented environment.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the acQuire database manager.
    • Administer acQuire licences.
    • Create an ODBC connection.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the acQuire Data Model (ADM).
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the acQuire configuration tools.
    • Create a workspace.
    • Use manager configuration options (e.g. virtual field wizard, derived field wizard, transform coordinates tool).
    • Demonstrate an understanding of how to create a simple workspace object (e.g. data entry, import etc).
