Ultimately, the decision on whether to use a PDA or tablet in the field is a matter of personal preference. PDAs have the advantage of being lightweight but have limited screen real estate; tablets have great screen real estate, but at the cost of some additional weight. As a rule of thumb, if there are a lot of measurements associated with each observation, then screen real estate will be at a premium and a tablet is most suitable. If you have fewer measurements associated with each observation, but many observations, then a PDA may be more suitable. If in doubt, we recommend using a tablet PC, but RAB drilling and soil sampling are examples of situations where a PDA may be the ideal choice. Whichever you choose, acQuire Managed Services hardware is guaranteed to be up to the job. If your equipment fails then we will replace it at our cost.

Rugged PDA Trimble Nomad 800L
