acQuire Neo Quick Start Guide

Date posted: 05/01/2012

In September 2011, acQuire introduced acQuire Neo, which is the first acQuire product released under project Mica. Project Mica is the codename for the next generation of acQuire products that leverage off modern programming interfaces such as the Microsoft .Net framework. The aim is to deliver applications that are rich in functionality and relevant to today’s technology.

Introduction

acQuire Neo is an application designed for the rapid discovery of data stored in an acQuire Geoscientific Information Management System (GIMS). No specialist knowledge of the database or the acQuire Data Model (ADM) is required to query the database and get the required results. It presents the data in appropriate contexts for all types of personnel in the Natural Resources industry, including managers, geoscientists, database specialists and other technical professionals.

acQuire Neo is aimed at all levels of users. It has been designed so that one does not need to solely rely on expert database users to query an acQuire database. Preconfigured view templates are organised in a searchable library to allow easy construction of complex queries and graphical log views. The canvas forms the work area where the data interrogation is performed. Multiple view templates can be dragged onto the canvas to form views. These views can be linked, filtered and displayed as log views. Canvases can be saved back into the personal section of the library for reopening at a later time, or to the shared section for sharing with other users.
